The Fantasy I Haven’t Told Anyone…
There’s a moment I think about sometimes —
quiet, late at night, when the world feels softer and I’m lying in the dark with my phone beside me.
It’s the kind of moment that doesn’t need anything extreme or elaborate.
Just a voice.
A connection.
Someone who wants to be there with me for a few minutes before sleep steals us both.
I’ve never really told anyone this, but here’s the little fantasy that plays in my head:
It starts with a late-night call…
The phone lights up softly.
I see your name.
And before I even answer, I know you’re calling because you need that moment —
not to rush, not to perform, but just to feel someone there with you.
I imagine saying “hey…” in that slow, warm tone
and hearing your breath catch just a little on the other end.
Nothing intense.
Nothing complicated.
Just the two of us
leaning into the quiet
and letting the tension build on its own.
Then the conversation gets closer…
Your voice drops.
Mine does too.
The pauses grow longer, heavier.
You tell me what kind of day you had.
I tease you for calling this late.
You laugh — that low, tired kind of laugh that feels real, not performative.
And I tell you the part of the night I look forward to most
is hearing someone’s voice soften when they start to let go.
And then I ask the question I never say out loud…
“What are you imagining right now?”
It’s a simple question.
A gentle one.
But it changes everything.
Because the way a man answers that —
softly, honestly, with that little hint of wanting —
is one of the most intimate moments two people can have over a phone.
Not explicit.
Just real.
Two imaginations brushing against each other in the dark.
**That’s the fantasy.
Not the wild part —
the quiet part.**
The part where everything slows down
and the world falls away
and your voice fills the space beside me like you’re right here.
Some nights I wonder what you’d say if I asked you:
“What would you do if you were lying next to me right now?”
And maybe one day I’ll get to hear your answer.
Want to share a quiet moment like that?
If you’re curious…
if you’ve imagined something similar…
if you want a warm, late-night connection without pressure or expectations —
You can call anytime.
I’ll be here.
